Navy Commander saves her career at a Board of Inquiry

A Commander in the Navy developed a very close relationship with her chief enlisted subordinate, which resulted in a charge of fraternization that was resolved at nonjudicial punishment.  As is always the case nowadays, this matter was then sent by the Commander, Naval Personnel Command to a Board of Inquiry to consider separating the Commander, several years from retirement, with an other than honorable discharge.  Working intensely with this Commander, Team McLain developed the story of this case so that the Board of Inquiry could understand the extenuating and mitigating circumstances. By embracing the truth of the charges in complete candor, and giving the full story, we were able to save the Commander's Career by unanimous vote of the Board to retain the Commander on active duty, permitting her to serve honorably until her retirement.
